A Money-Saving Deal at White Pia Takasu with an FDA Boarding Pass

Blog

Have you heard of “White Pia Takasu”?

It is a popular ski resort in Okumino, Gifu. It is not well known among foreign visitors, but it is one of the ski resorts where you can enjoy JAPOW.

It is not a huge ski resort like Hakuba or Niseko, but with abundant snowfall and high-quality snow, many Japanese skiers and snowboarders visit.

Today, we are sharing a great value deal at “White Pia Takasu.”

This is a money-saving campaign where, if you fly with FDA (Fuji Dream Airlines), you can get discounts on lift tickets, rentals, and meals at the popular ski resort “White Pia Takasu” in Okumino, Gifu.

1) What is FDA (Fuji Dream Airlines)?

FDA (Fuji Dream Airlines) is a domestic airline that connects major cities and regional airports within Japan.

Looking at its routes and timetable, it links regional cities to regional cities, such as Sapporo (New Chitose / Okadama), Nagoya (Komaki / Chubu), Kobe, Fukuoka, Kumamoto, and Kagoshima.

Another key point is that FDA also operates Japan Airlines (JAL) codeshare flights, which expands your itinerary options (this discount also applies to codeshare flights).

2) What kind of ski resort is White Pia Takasu?

White Pia Takasu (WHITEPIA TAKASU) is a ski resort located in Takasu-cho, Gujo City, Gifu Prefecture.

It is known for good access, and it is relatively close to Nagoya within the Okumino area.

The resort officially lists a total run length of 2,300 meters and 13 courses, giving it enough volume for a solid day trip.

It also offers a “White Pia & Washigatake” joint ticket, and one feature is that you can travel between the two resorts at the summit.

Access by car (an important point for foreign visitors)

Many ski resorts in Japan are places where renting a car is more common than using “train + shuttle.” White Pia Takasu is a typical example, and the appeal is that it is close to an interchange.

  • About 15 minutes from Takasu IC (via Yamabiko Road. Note that car navigation systems may direct you toward the villa area, so be careful to “go straight along the road.”)
  • About 10 minutes from Hirugano Kogen Smart IC (ETC only)

There is parking for about 2,000 vehicles, and the fee structure is also clearly stated (since it varies by vehicle type, be sure to check the size class of your rental car).

3) Discounts you can receive by flying with FDA

By bringing your “boarding pass” from an FDA flight, you can receive the following benefits at White Pia Takasu.

Eligible period

  • From 1/9 (Fri) until the end of this season

Eligible tickets (boarding passes)

  • A boarding pass for a flight on or after 1/9, with your own name printed on the boarding pass
  • Boarding passes with a group name are not eligible
  • Even if you flew for a purpose other than skiing, you can still receive the benefits (business or sightseeing is fine, as long as the boarding pass meets the conditions)
  • Only the boarding pass itself is accepted; reservation confirmation sheets or reservation emails are not accepted
  • If you lose your boarding pass after the flight, you cannot receive the benefits (it is safest to assume it cannot be reissued)

Eligible routes

  • All routes operated by FDA (Japan Airlines codeshare flights are also eligible)

4) Benefit details (How much can you save? How do you use it?)

1) Lift ticket: 4,000 yen (all days)

  • Available for purchase at 4,000 yen on any day
  • Regular prices vary depending on the date and ticket type. As a reference, the official price list shows an adult 1-day ticket for White Pia alone as “5,200 yen.”

In other words, if the conditions fit, this is a very strong discount.

2) Rentals (gear and wear)

  • Weekdays: 2,900 yen each / Weekends & holidays: 3,800 yen each
  • (Note) Depending on reservation status, some sizes may be out of stock

For foreign travelers in particular, boot size / helmets / wear sizes may not fit, so if possible, it is recommended to go earlier in the day.

3) Accommodation (Villa Wing): 20% OFF with advance reservation

  • Weekdays in January and February, and limited to March
  • 20% OFF with advance reservation
  • In the remarks section on the booking site, enter: “Reservation for FDA passenger benefits”
  • February weekends are excluded
  • Manten no Yado is not included

4) Meal voucher: 1,000 yen (KITCHENWING only)

  • Includes a 1,000-yen meal voucher that can be used at the main restaurant “KITCHENWING” only
  • Can be used when your total bill is 1,000 yen or more

If you are sharing meals with friends, a good tip is to combine the bill to meet the condition.

5) Points foreign visitors often trip over (this is very important)

This campaign is simple, but if you do not understand Japan’s “boarding pass culture,” you may miss out. In particular, be sure to keep these three points in mind.

  1. Do not throw away, fold, or get your boarding pass wet.
In Japan, many people throw away their boarding passes after flying, but for this campaign, the “physical boarding pass” is required.
  2. Check that the name is your own.
Boarding passes with a group name are not eligible. Your personal name must be printed.
  3. Email or reservation screens do not work.
This is a case where “Showing the reservation confirmation email should be fine, right?” does not apply. The boarding pass itself is the requirement.

6) Extra ways to save: White Pia’s own “value systems”

White Pia Takasu already has some value deals. For example:

  • Every Friday is Half-Price Day (lift tickets are half price + a 1-day rental set is also half price)
  • If you visit by car on a weekday, you get a half-price lift ticket coupon you can use next time
  • Thursday is “Bath Day” (discounted large public bath)

By combining “the FDA benefit” with your schedule, you can significantly reduce the cost of your trip.

Summary: Who is this discount recommended for?

  • People who want to make inter-city travel in Japan easier (warp by domestic flight)
  • People visiting Japan for the first time and feel uneasy about local transportation (a ski resort close to an interchange is reassuring)
  • People who want to save not only on lift tickets, but also on rentals and meals
  • Since it is OK even if you flew for a non-ski purpose, it also works well for “an add-on ski day” during business trips or other travel

There is only one thing you need to do: “Do not lose your boarding pass with your name on it.”

If you follow this, you can enjoy Japan’s mountains (JAPOW) at a much better value.
