More than 90% of users are foreign visitors, so it is easy for non-Japanese guests to get by. There are foreign staff and many Japanese staff members who speak good English. In-resort signs and guidance are also shown in English, so language is rarely a problem.
However, note that the official website can be somewhat hard to navigate and may not give you a clear picture of the entire facility layout — you may feel uncertain.

One of Rusutsu’s strengths is the three-peak layout (West, East, Isola). Each mountain has distinguishing features, covering beginner to advanced terrain:

Isola also has more intermediate-to-advanced slopes; beginners should be cautious — some routes do not offer an easy beginner way back to the lift station.
Overall crowd levels are similar across areas, but Isola is often relatively less crowded. While it is possible to tour all areas in one day, note that the gondola between West and East/Isola is long; repeatedly traveling back and forth can be time-consuming. A practical plan is to ski West in the morning and East/Isola in the afternoon.

- Beginners: Plenty of wide, gentle slopes make Rusutsu a safe place to practice. Easy trails on East and West are well provided.

Compared to busier resorts like Niseko, Rusutsu tends to be relatively calmer, making it attractive for riders prioritizing quality skiing.
